Zeb: The basis for Dr. Muramoto's extrapolation is carefully explained and referenced. Read those research articles, do your own research, and see what you come up with. You will find we have presented a very conservative estimate.

Hello Ruby 456. The calculation you bring up (150 deaths per year) is not mine. Its from Dr. Muramoto, M.D. It refers to deaths during the year 2001, and just in the U.S. where "bloodless medicine" is performed at a advanced level. There were approximately 6 millions JWs worldwide at that time. 150 x 6 = 900 worldwide deaths in 2001, and these are just deaths related to elective surgery without blood. They do not include deaths from trauma, blood disorders or childbirth. Actual numbers are certainly higher. The numbers have been presented at a major medical conference, and carefully reviewed by capable researchers working with AJWRB. They will stand up to scrutiny.

Blood Transfusions/Blood Salvage
by NJ501 inhi all,i've been doing some research on blood transfusions and fractions.
i found out a patient can donate their own blood, so it can be used for elective surgery...i was wondering if theirs really any difference between a blood transfusion of your own blood and the blood salvage procedure.
i think quite similar since its just a re-transfusion of your own blood.. what are your thoughts?

For many decades JW's have been using Acute Normovolemic Hemodilution. I tried to find a video of this particular autologous WHOLE blood transfusion but was not able to. Instead I found a brief video demonstrating the "Hemobag" which is essentially the same procedure, and is in fact used on JW patients with the WTS and HLC blessing with a very slight modification. Watch the video for yourself and decide whether or not you think JWs are transfusing whole blood or not.

Family of Jehovah's Witness who died after refusing blood transfusion can't keep suing doctors
by pale.emperor inhttp://www.pennlive.com/news/2017/07/court_nixes_lawsuit_by_family.html.
the family of a jehovah's witness who died after repeatedly refusing blood transfusions can't sue the hospital where doctors begged for a chance to save her life, a state appeals court ruled.. the case, outlined in an opinion by superior court judge jacqueline o. shogan, involves a convergence of religion, medicine and the law.. its focus is on what happened before terri seels-davila, a jehovah's witness missionary, died after giving birth at hahnemann university hospital in philadelphia in november 2010.. seels-davila, who had been serving on mission with her husband in nicaragua, chose hahnemann because of its "bloodless medicine" program for patients who won't agree to having blood transfusions, including jehovah's witnesses, shogan noted.
the treatment plan for seels-davila called for recycling her own blood back into her system.. yet that proved to be inadequate when complications of her delivery required seels-davila to deliver by cesarean section.

It is a humbling experience having to admit one has been thoroughly deceived. The average JW labors under so much misinformation it is simply amazing.

The whole thing is disgusting. It also shows how much damage can be done to WT when these stories get the attention they deserve. In this case, it was a non-believing JW aunt who blew the whistle. Usually we don't hear about these cases due to privacy laws. The exception is when a JW minor is involved, and the doctor or hospital go to the court. The WT is hard at a work on a way to manage even these situations to keep them out of the news. Sickening the way they seek to control information.

I can't say this surprises me. I played in a band comprised of mostly JW's over the years from the time I was 16 up until I left as an elder in 1997. The friends mostly loved the music, and would show up anytime they knew we were playing. There were always a few sticks in the mud that liked to stir up trouble, but they were the minority. I think its a welcome change for most.

This Story Says It All
by Lee Elder inthis story shows the sad reality of being a jw in a medical emergency, and how incredibly difficult it is to make an informed, free choice about medical care.
it also shows that for jw's, obeying watchtower leaders is more important than marriage or even the life of your child.
very sad indeed: http://lifestyle.inquirer.net/267054/religious-husband-dumped-saving-child/ .

For outsiders, its difficult to understand just how strong the level of control really is. Its much like serious addiction. I think its a great idea to give widespread distribution of this story. It really does a good job of illustrating the strength of Watchtower's undue influence.

I agree, it is a win-win, as upsetting as it must be for the mother. She made the right choice, its just sad that she couldn't have a free choice without sanctions or control. I would be surprised to see JW apologists jump on this train. Great quote from Jesus by the way.

Religious husband dumped her for saving her child
By: Emily Marcelo - Columnist / @Inq_LifestylePhilippine Daily Inquirer / 04:20 AM July 02, 2017My husband of 11 years left me because I allowed my daughter to have a blood transfusion after she contracted dengue. My husband is a devout Jehovah’s Witness and his religion believes that having a blood transfusion is a sin against God. I can’t believe how selfish he is. Our daughter’s life was at stake and she needed blood! He said this procedure would make Jehovah angry. He said he was willing to sacrifice our daughter’s life to please God. Without his permission, I donated my own blood for my daughter.
Since I have broken this rule, my husband dumped me. It’s heartbreaking that my husband put his religion first. He even warned that our daughter and I would be punished for what I’ve done. It’s been seven months since my husband left us. I am now a solo parent. My husband even refuses to give financial support because he said he didn’t want to support a disobedient wife and daughter. Even my church has disowned me. My daughter and I are not allowed to attend services at Kingdom Hall anymore. Our fellow Jehovah Witnesses friends won’t even help me or talk to me. But I’m still lucky I have my family to back me up.
Am I a bad Christian? Does God still love me?
